The competent authority to receive and grant transit requests is the Ministry of Justice. Transit requests should be sent to the Ministry of Justice of Hungary, Department of International Criminal Law. Please send your request by e-mail, directly to the e-mail address below. Tel.: +36-1-795-5839 e-mail: nemzb@im.gov.hu The documents needed to grant a transit request: -personal data of the person, including his/her nationality -the type of legal assistance legal basis of the transit (European arrest warrant, extradition, transfer of a sentenced person, European investigation order) -the facts of the case and the legal qualification of the offence -confirmation, that the executing State granted the request for legal assistance (European arrest warrant, extradition request, transfer of a sentenced person, European investigation order)

Decision on granting the transit shall be made within 7 days from the receipt of the Request. Outside EU, there is no deadline, but MoJ deals with transit requests with urgency.
