The certificate mentioned in Article 4 must be written in Finnish, Swedish or English or translated into one of these languages. The Legal Register Center can approve also other languages if there are no further obstacles to that.

Special requirements

Enforcement may be applied to fines, costs of legal proceedings or administrative procedures, and sums ordered to be paid to a public fund or a crime victims support organisation. After deciding to commence enforcement, the Legal Register Center sends the decision, instructions for appeal and a request for payment to the person liable to pay. The person may appeal the decision to Tampere District Court within 30 days. The actual enforcement shall be effected according to Finnish legislation. The person liable to pay may, for instance, be granted extension of the time of payment.
