Measure Implementation

Is this measure possible in your Member State under International Judicial Cooperation?

Confrontation/lining up people in front of a victim/witness is a measure that can be done during the preliminary investigation in order to determine whether the suspect can be singled out. The measure is not used often anymore in Swedish investigations. Instead, photo confrontation is used more often. Confrontation/line up would take place in a hearing, see Measure A.11 Hearing Standard Procedure. A confrontation/line up would be done after specific rules and requirements which have been established by the Swedish Police Authority. Simultaneous interviews of several persons are not normally used in Swedish investigations because it is not considered appropriate for the investigation.
