Directive 2011/99/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 2011 on the European protection order

Competent Authority

* receive the request/decision for judicial cooperation

District Court within the jurisdiction of which the protected person has a permanent or temporary residence. If the court having jurisdiction cannot be determined according to the preceding paragraph, the District Court of Ljubljana shall have jurisdiction.

The competent domestic court decides on the recognition or rejection of the European protection order within ten days of receiving the application for the issuance of the European protection order. Decision shall be served on threatening person and protected person which both may appeal the decision within eight days. District Court panel must render a decision on the appeal within eight working days. The appeal does not withhold execution of a decision on the recognition or rejection of the European protection order.

Special requirements

Recognition of EPO shall be refused when protected measure relates to a criminal offense which is not considered a criminal offense under domestic law.
