Under the Romanian Presidency on 26-28 June in Bucharest, Romania, took place the 52nd Plenary meeting of the European Judicial Network.

Regional EJN Contact Points Meeting was held in Sarajevo from 10 to 11 June 2019

The 20th Annual Meeting of the German EJN-contact points (and 8th Annual Berlin Regional EJN-Meeting) in Berlin on May 7, 2019 dealt with the practical relevance of assurances, conditions and guarantees within extradition and surrender proceedings.

On 27/05/2019, the CJEU’s Grand Chamber delivered its judgments in Case C-509/18 (PF) and Joined Cases C-508/18 (O.G.) & C-82/19 PPU (P.I.). In these cases, the CJEU was asked to clarify whether a Public Prosecutor’s Office may be regarded as a ‘judicial authority’ within the meaning of Article 6(1) EAW FD and whether it is as such entitled to issue a EAW.

On 20 March 2019 the Tool Correspondents of the European Judicial Network gathered for the 18th Tool Correspondents Meeting in The Hague to discuss various aspects of the EJN website.

On 20 February 2019, the 40th Regular meeting of the European Judicial Network (EJN) took place in The Hague, under the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Eurojust Case Law by the Court of Justice of the European Union on the European Arrest Warrant

The meeting gathered around 120 participants: local authorities from Austria, EJN Contact Points from the EU Member States, candidate, associated and third countries, as well as representatives from Eurojust, the European Commission, the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU and EJN partners.

On 17th October 2018, the 10th National Correspondents Meeting of the European Judicial Network (EJN) took place in The Hague under the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Council today adopted a regulation on the mutual recognition of freezing and confiscation orders. The aim of the new rules is to ensure the effective freezing and confiscation of criminal assets across the EU. This will help make the EU more secure by tackling the financing of criminal activities, including acts of terrorism.

The Portuguese National meeting of the European Judicial Network that took place in Aveiro on 7th – 8th May 2018 was attended by 38 participants with the presence of Magistrates from Spain, the Portuguese EJN Contact Points, the members of the national Portuguese network, members of the Portuguese desk at Eurojust, and a representative of the EJN Secretariat.
