The main goal of the regional meeting was the exchange of practical knowledge between the EJN contact points from Republic of Austria, Republic of Italy, Republic of Slovenia, Republic of Croatia and EJN contact points of the Western Balkan Countries in the field of judicial cooperation during the pre-trail phase of the proceedings.

Poland organised the 2nd Regional and 9th National Meeting of the Contact Points of the European Judicial Network on 1 and 2 October 2018 in Warsaw, at the premises of the National Prosecutor’s Office.

On 13-14 September State Police of Ministry of Interior of Republic of Latvia (hereafter - State Police of Latvia) hosted a regional meeting involving EJN Contact Points from the judicial authorities of Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Turkey, and Taiwan.

On 27th to 28th September 2018 the Swedish Prosecution Authority hosted a regional EJN-meeting in Stockholm.

The 50th Plenary of the European Judicial Network (EJN) took place on 27 – 29 June in Sofia, Bulgaria, under the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On 21 March 2018, the 17th Tool Correspondents meeting of the European Judicial Network (EJN) took place in The Hague. During this meeting, participants gathered under the Presidency of Bulgaria to discuss the current and future projects foreseen for the update and improvement of the EJN website.

On 21 st February 2018, the 39 th Regular Meeting of the European Judicial Network took place in The Hague under the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

During the two Plenary Meetings of 2017 that took place under the Maltese and Estonian Presidencies, practitioners from the European Union (EU) discussed the practical application of Directive 2014/41/EU regarding the European Investigation Order in criminal matters (“EIO Directive”).

In addition to the general questionnaire on training of justice professionals on EU law launched on Friday 2 February (see below), there is a targeted questionnaire complementing the first one. This targeted questionnaire is intended for specialists of the European judicial training strategy.

The deadline for applications is 12 February 2018.

Outcome of the 48th and 49th Plenary Meetings discussions

A Regional meeting of the EJN organised by Slovenia took place in Novi Sad, Serbia in October last year.

The 49th Plenary of the European Judicial Network (EJN) took place on 23 - 24 November in Tallinn, Estonia, under the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The EJN Secretariat has published on the EJN website five standardised forms for accompanying the procedure for enforcement of cross-border financial penalties as laid down by Framework Decision 2005/214/JHA, agreed within the Working Party on Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters (COPEN) of the Council of the European Union.
