Service of documents is conducted by the Executive Police. The request must be made in English or Maltese however, the document to be served may be sent in the language understood by the person served.

For the purpose of Article 7, paragraph 3 of the 1959 Convention, the Government of Malta requests that the summons to be served on an accused person who is in its territory be transmitted to its authorities at least 50 days before the date set for appearance.
