As the bank information is deemed to be a person's private data, in order to obtain bank accounts or any other data which is person's private data, a prosecutor's desision approved by the prie-trial investigation judge is needed.

Under the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters of 20 April 1959 requests and annexed documents shall be addressed to in Lithuanian or accompanied by a translation into one of the official languages of the Council of Europe (i.e. English or French).

Information received under such a measure may be use only for the investigation of the case. Any information irrelevant for the investigation must be destroyed by the prosecutor immediately.
