The EJN Secretariat organised the 16th Legal English Language Training for EJN Contact Points on 22–23 April 2026 which was hosted by the Office of the Prosecutor General in Munich, Germany. The training brought together 30 EJN Contact Points for an intensive, practice-oriented programme focused on strengthening English language legal skills in the context of judicial cooperation.

Participants engaged in sessions covering key criminal law terminology, effective communication in cross-border cases, and the practical use of English in day-to-day cooperation. The EJN Contact Points represented 17 EU Member States and Ukraine.
The programme also addressed emerging topics, including the growing importance of technology for legal practitioners, as well as the functioning of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs), and featured guest speakers Mr. Marco Mosele from the JITs Network Secretariat and Mr. Laviero Buono, Head of the Criminal Law Section of the Academy of European Law (ERA). An interactive case exercise in setting up a JIT allowed participants to apply their knowledge to a complex cross-border investigation scenario, enhancing both linguistic and operational understanding.
The training was highly interactive, encouraging active participation and exchange of experience among practitioners, and further supporting effective communication within the EJN.
