EJN at COPEN meeting, 15 December 2025

On 15 December, Hugh Dockry, Head of the EJN Secretariat, represented the EJN at the COPEN meeting of the Council of the European Union.

Hugh presented there the highlights of the 8th biennial Report on Activities and Management of the EJN 2023-2024.

Another topic he covered was the conclusions of the 64th EJN Plenary meeting in Warsaw (7-9 May 2025), more specifically the outcome of the workshops  “Cooperation in criminal matters with the United Kingdom” and “Disclosure of e-evidence by service providers”.

Otherwise, Hugh got the opportunity to elaborate on the EJN Conclusions from the Czech Regional Meeting of the EJN Contact Points in Prague (15-16 September 2025) on cross-border interception, cross-border surveillance and application of the judgment on case C-548/21.

The next COPEN meeting will take place on 14 January 2026 and the EJN has been invited to be present in relation to the 11th Round of Mutual Evaluations where the EJN has been involved in as an observer.
