Graz, 25 June 2025 – Judicial representatives from ten European countries met in Graz from 25 to 27 June 2025 to discuss cross-border cooperation in the fight against cybercrime.
Delegations from Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Hungary, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the United Kingdom exchanged experiences and discussed current challenges related to cybercrime, online extremism, and terrorism.
At the opening, Mag. Michael Schwanda, President of the Court of Appeal in Graz, highlighted the growing impact of cybercrime on justice systems. Mag. Reinhard Kloibhofer, Head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Appeal in Graz, stressed the importance of international cooperation and referred to Austria’s efforts in setting up specialised cybercrime units.
The programme included presentations on these units, a session on recent developments in online extremism and terrorism, and a professional exchange with the Prosecution Service and District Court of Maribor.
The European Judicial Network (EJN) took part remotely. Vasileios Sarigiannidis, Seconded National Expert, gave an online presentation on current EJN work and priorities.
