On Tuesday 16 April, Hugh Dockry and the EJN Secretariat received a delegation from EL PAcCTO 2.0, lead by Mr Javier Samper Orgiles. The delegates were given an overview of the role of the Network and the responsibilities of the EJN Secretariat. Mr Samper then expressed their interest to become a partner in the field, as there is an appetite in Latin America and the Caribbean for international cooperation in criminal matters with the EJN members.
The Europe Latin America Programme of Assistance against Transnational Organised Crime (EL PAcCTO) is an international cooperation programme funded by the European Union that seeks to contribute to security and justice in Latin America by supporting the fight against transnational organised crime. In its intervention, EL PAcCTO addresses the entire criminal chain from an integral perspective through its work in three components: police, justice and penitentiary.
