The 23th Annual Meeting of the German EJN-contact points (and 11th Annual Berlin Regional EJN-Meeting) in Berlin on May 9th, 2023 dealt with the enforcement of foreign judgement regarding sanctions involving the deprivation of liberty apart from prison regime in the different member states.
Thanks to the EJN Grant funding, we were able to invite guests from Austria, Luxemburg, Poland, Switzerland and the Czech Republic, who presented us a very informative and valuable overview of their legal system and non-custodial measures. Besides, we received equivalent reports form the French liaison officer in Berlin and our German counterpart in Paris, with whom the German EJN-contact points are currently cultivating an extreme close and effective cooperation.
In addition, a delegated prosecutor of the German EPPO gave a short overview of the recent development of the new European agency and its national centers in Germany. Furthermore, we were delighted to welcome the chair of the German desk at EUROJUST, Mr. MacLean as well as Ianina Lipara form the EJN Secretariat, who informed us about their main activities during the last year. All the participants were once again delighted in seeing old friends and tying new bonds in a personal atmosphere.
