From 26 to 28 April 2023, the Regional Meeting of the European Judicial Network (EJN) on Digitalisation of Justice – Consequences for the International Cooperation and the Role of the EJN took place in Linz, Austria, organised by the Austrian Contact Points with the support of the EJN Secretariat.

The meeting was opened by Dr Friedrich Hintersteininger, Head of the Higher Public Prosecutors Office Linz, who addressed current judicial policy issues, and Dr Rainer Schopper, Head of the Public Prosecutors Office Linz, who highlighted the progress made in the digitalisation of justice.

This was followed by detailed presentations on the digitalisation of the Austrian justice system, in particular on the electronic case file, cultural activities, an excursion to the judicial authorities in Passau, Germany, and a discussion on the state of play of the digitalisation of justice in the Member States represented, which revealed that progress varies considerably and that there is still work to be done.
