The EIO Directive had to be transposed until 22 May 2017 by 26 Member States of the European Union which are bound by this legal instrument (Ireland and Denmark are not taking part in this measure). According to the information available to the EJN Secretariat as of today, 23 May 2017, it was transposed so far by Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary and Latvia.
As of 22 May, the EJN Secretariat has started updating the Judicial Atlas regarding the EIO Directive and enabled the EIO Annex A form in the Compendium. The Fiches belges will be also updated by the EJN Tool Correspondents from the Member States which have transposed the EIO Directive. The German Fiches belges were updated on 22 May.

We remind you that the forms provided for in the Annexes A, B and C of the EIO Directive are available in the EJN Judicial Library in all EU official languages. Moreover, within the "Info to Contact Points" restricted area of the EJN website, the EJN Secretariat created a new sub-section containing additional practical information on the application of the EIO Directive (password protected).
The EIO Directive represents an important step forward in strengthening the judicial cooperation in criminal matters between the EU Member States. This directive replaces, between the Member States which transposed it, most of the traditional mutual legal assistance framework for gathering evidence in criminal matters.
