The Guidelines aim to support the national judicial authorities in extradition proceedings of EU citizens to third states and provide an overview of the case-law of the CJEU on the matter. The guidelines also point out various legal questions that have to be considered by the national authorities in the course of the proceedings.
The Guidelines are a follow-up to the findings in the Joint report of EJN and Eurojust on the extradition of EU citizens to third countries, available on the EAW Portal of the EJN website - www.ejn-crimjust.europa.eu/ejn2021/ContentDetail/EN/6/87
