On the 24th of February, the EJN met in the context of the 43rd EJN Regular meeting under the French Presidency of the Council of the EU. The meeting was organized in a hybrid format and gathered approximately 50 participants from EU Member States, Candidate Countries and EJN Associate countries.

The French Presidency opened the meeting condemning the attack on Ukraine and expressing support for Ukraine and its citizens, in line with the values the EJN stands for.

The priorities of the French Presidency in the justice area as well as the main topics of discussion during the 58th EJN Plenary meeting, were presented.

During the meeting the participants discussed topics of interest in relation to judicial cooperation in criminal matters, such as the impact of the CJEU judgments on the application of the European Investigation Order, the cooperation with UK and the application of the TCA as well as the practical experience with regards to the application of the Freezing and confiscation Regulation.

The EJN Secretariat presented the developments in the EJN website, the state of play of the EJN Secure Connection as well as the first results from the EJN case reporting for 2021.
