On 12 October 2021, the 11th National Meeting of the Polish Contact Points of the European Judicial Network (EJN) took place in the premises of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.

Apart from the Polish EJN Contact Points, the Secretary to the EJN Mr. Ola Löfgren took part in the meeting (online) as well as the liaison prosecutor of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to Poland Mr. Kiernan Cunningham.

During the meeting, the first Polish experiences in execution of the new EU Regulation on freezing and confiscation (Regulation (EU) 2018/1805) were presented. The participants discussed the role of the EJN network in facilitating the application of this regulation by prosecutors in daily practice.

Then, the CPS liaison prosecutor presented his role and tasks in the area of the Polish – UK cooperation in criminal matters. The Polish EJN Contact Points raised the main issues in relations with the UK and discussed possible solutions of problems that they came across.

The Secretary to the EJN outlined for the participants the ongoing activities of the EJN as well as the results of the first peer evaluation of the EJN, in particular pointing on the functioning of the EJN in Poland.

The participants were very pleased to be able to renew the personal relations after the lockdown, caused by the covid pandemic and discuss plans and tasks for the future.
