(b) By virtue of Registration of Residents Law (Cap.85), any police officer on duty, or any authority responsible for the registration of persons as well as any other person properly authorized by the Registration Authority, may require from any person to present his/her identity card. If the person omits to present his/her identity when required, any of the persons mentioned above may order this person to present his/her identity in a specified time and place, with a view to confirm the person’s identity.
