Partners and Networks

The Academy of European Law (ERA) provides training to legal practitioners in European criminal justice cooperation and in other areas of European law. It was established in 1992 on the initiative of the European Parliament as a non-profit public foundation. Its patrons include most EU member states and it is supported financially by the European Union. ERA works with all practitioners of law, be they judges, prosecutors, defence counsel, law enforcement officers or lawyers in public administration.

Europol ist die Europäische Strafverfolgungsorganisation, deren Ziel es ist, die Wirksamkeit und Zusammenarbeit der zuständigen Behörden in den Mitgliedstaaten bezüglich der Vorbeugung und Bekämpfung des Terrorismus, des illegalen Drogenhandels und anderer gravierender Formen des international organisierten Verbrechens zu verbessern.

Das Büro der Vereinten Nationen für Drogen- und Verbrechensbekämpfung ist eine der weltweit führenden Stellen im Kampf gegen illegale Drogen und internationale Kriminalität. Das UNODC, das durch eine Fusion des United Nations Drug Control Programme und des Centre for International Crime Prevention entstand, ist durch ein umfassendes Niederlassungsnetz in allen Regionen der Welt tätig.

Das Netzwerk besteht aus Vertretern der für das Zivil- und Handelsrecht zuständigen Justiz- und Verwaltungsbehörden der Mitgliedstaaten. Das Hauptziel besteht darin, die Durchführung von Rechtsstreitigkeiten mit transnationalen Elementen – d.h. Rechtsstreitigkeiten, die mehr als einen Mitgliedstaat betreffen – zu erleichtern.

Das Iberoamerikanische Kooperationsnetzwerk (IberRed) besteht aus Kontaktstellen bei den Justizbehörden und zentralen Behörden, Staatsanwaltschaften und Öffentlichen Diensten sowie den Generalversammlungen der 23 Staaten, die die Iberoamerikanischen Staatengemeinschaft bilden; es ist dazu gedacht, die Instrumente der zivil- und strafrechtlichen Rechtshilfe zu optimieren und die Kooperation zwischen den betreffenden Staaten zu stärken.

Auf Ersuchen müssen die Anlaufstellen sich gegenseitig Informationen über Untersuchungen zu Völkermord, Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit und Kriegsverbrechen zur Verfügung stellen. Sie können diese Informationen auch auf eigene Initiative hin austauschen. Zu den Aufgaben der Anlaufstellen zählt auch, die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den zuständigen nationalen Behörden zu erleichtern.

The Network of judicial international cooperation of the Portuguese speaking countries (Rede Judiciária da CPLP, RJCPLP, created in 2005) was established by the Conference of Ministers of Justice of the Portuguese speaking Countries.

The Commonwealth Network of Contact Persons (CNCP, created in 2007) was established to improve and enhance international assistance and cooperation in criminal cases through facilitating international co-operation in criminal cases between the Commonwealth Member States, including mutual legal assistance and extradition and through providing the legal and practical information necessary to the authorities in their own country and in the Commonwealth Member States wishing to invoke international cooperation.

The Moroccan Judicial network for international cooperation (MJNIC), is a group of magistrates, judges and public prosecutors, with special expertise in international legal cooperation, intended to facilitate, to improve and to encourage the international legal cooperation requested or given by Morocco, through the active advising and supporting to the judicial authorities involved, both national and international, in order to achieve the informal intermediation between them.

The European Judicial Cybercrime Network (EJCN) is a network of prosecutors and investigative judges specialised in cybercrime, cyber-enabled crime and criminal investigations in cyberspace.

IPA 2017 project is implemented by Gesellschaft fűr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the Italian Ministry of Interior.

The European Judicial Network in criminal matters (EJN) is a network of national contact points for the facilitation of judicial cooperation in criminal matters.

Combating impunity is key to ending cycles of violence in the Great Lakes region. Recognizing this, the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework for the Democratic Republic of Congo and the region (PSC Framework) requires the Heads of State of the signatory countries to neither harbor nor provide protection to persons accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide or falling under the UN Sanctions Regime, and to facilitate the administration of justice through judicial cooperation within the Great Lakes region.

Established in March 2020, the South East Asia Justice Network (SEAJust) is a UNODC supported judicial cooperation network that serves as an informal platform facilitating direct contact and communication between central authorities for mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.

Eurojust ist eine 2002 von der Europäischen Union neu gegründete Stelle, die den zuständigen Behörden der Mitgliedstaaten der EU eine wirksamere Ermittlung und Strafverfolgung im Falle grenzüberschreitender Schwerkriminalität und insbesondere organisierter Kriminalität ermöglichen soll.

The Network of National Experts on Joint Investigation Teams (JITs Network) was established in July 2005, implementing the ‘Hague Programme’ and its commitment that each Member State should designate a National Expert ‘with a view to encouraging the use of JITs and exchanging experience on best practice’.
