Is this measure possible in your Member State under International Judicial Cooperation? | Yes. Children may be heard during the preliminary investigation. Normally consent from the parents is necessary. If the hearing is to take place in Court, the Court determines whether a person under the age of 15 years may be heard as a witness or not. If a child is to be heard in Court he or she is not heard under oath.

a. Special requirements | In a Swedish pretrial investigation a child under 15 is normally interviewed in a special Child House and the interview is recorded on a DVD. The lawyer of the suspects may be present in a connected room and can put questions to the child via the inteviewer.
