Is this measure possible in your Member State under International Judicial Cooperation? | Yes. In the event that the disclosure of the identity of a witness might reasonably pose danger to his life or the life of a near relative, the investigating judge may declare information about the identity of the witness an official secret and order persons involved in the proceedings to keep it secret, or he may order that all data on the identity of the witness be deleted from the criminal file. Such a witness may be interrogated using technical devices such as a protective wall, voice distortion device, isolation of sound and image transmission from a specially provided space, etc. The investigating judge also forbids any questions that might elicit answers disclosing the identity of the witness. |
